The Whatcom Council on Aging welcomes new Executive Director, Chris Orr. A native of Anacortes and a graduate of the University of Washington, Chris and his family recently relocated to the area from Charlotte North Carolina. Since 1999 Chris was employed by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, where he served as Executive Director of multiple branches. He is married with two teenagers and enjoys many hobbies and activities, including playing the fiddle, biking, and coaching youth soccer and basketball. Starting Tuesday, April 16, you can find Chris at his office in the lower level of the Bellingham Senior Activity Center, or more likely, upstairs getting to know members, volunteers, and staff.
