Senior Community Meals
Senior Community Meals offer older adults the opportunity to connect with each other while enjoying a delicious, nutritionally balanced meal.
Who is eligible for a donation-based meal?
Federal Regulations (Older Americans Act Title IIIC) and Washington State Senior Nutrition Program Standards require that Congregate Meals (also known as Senior Community Meals) be offered on a contribution only basis to eligible participants who fill out the required information on the Participant Information Form (PIF)
To be eligible for a *contribution-based Senior Community Meal, a person MUST meet the following criteria:
- Age 60 or over (55 for Native American); or
- Spouse/Partner who lives with an eligible person aged 60 or over(client present); or
- Unpaid caregiver who lives with an eligible person aged 60 or over (client must be present); or
- Disabled Dependent who lives with an eligible person aged 60 or over, (parent must be with dependent); or
- An Individual, any age, volunteering their services for the MOWaM Program in any capacity during meal service, on the day they volunteer.
- All participants must fill out our Participant Information Form (PIF)
**For Senior Community Meals located at one of our Senior Centers, A person who does not meet the above criteria or refuses to fill out our Participant Information Form (PIF) may purchase a meal for the full cost of the meal ($10.00) as established by MOWaM Program Management- and only if food remains after all eligible persons are served.
***Eligible persons will not be pressured to contribute for their meal. The amount of the contribution must be determined by each individual according to their ability to contribute. No eligible person will be denied a meal in the event they do not contribute.
