Update Tuesday 8/4/2026 at 7:00pm- Senior Day in the Park is still on for Wednesday, August 5. After monitoring the smoke forecast, talking with local health department staff and spending the day setting up at Hovander Homestead Park we have made the decision to go ahead with the event. If anything changes we will post here at 6:00am.
Regardless of our event plans for Wednesday, please make the best personal decision for yourself regarding your own health and wellness. A few resources for your consideration:
**Medical masks and N95 Masks will be available for all Senior Day in the Park participants at the Lunch Ticket and Info Booths.
**Whatcom County Fire Department 7 will have medics onsite to assist with any medical emergencies.
**With temperatures predicted to be in the 80s, we have plenty of covered seating and bottled water to keep people cool and hydrated.
About This Event
Welcome to Senior Day in the Park 2026, the Whatcom Council on Aging’s premier event for seniors in Whatcom County. This annual gathering brings together more than 1500 area seniors and over 125 vendors for a resource fair, picnic, music and dancing – all in the spirit of supporting the health and wellness of seniors in our community. Enjoying the outdoors with seniors in the community and your colleagues has never been more fun!
